Lifeway Mobility Products

Lifeway Mobility Stair Lifts

Stair lifts remove physical and safety constraints from multistory homes. A specially designed chair gently moves up and down the staircase while leaving room for others to use the steps.

Lifeway Mobility sells straight, curved, outdoor, and commercial-grade stair lifts from manufacturers known for quality products.

  • Bruno stair lifts are made in the U.S. and come with a lifetime warranty.
  • Harmar stair lifts are easy to install with no-hassle support.
  • Hawle makes attractive outdoor stair lifts that can run up to 131 feet.

Lifeway rents straight stair lifts for temporary installations. Rentals are helpful when you’re recovering from surgery or a relative with limited mobility is visiting your home. You can buy used straight stair lifts from Lifeway Mobility, depending on inventory, and save up to $1,000.

Lifeway Mobility Wheelchair Lifts

A wheelchair lift is a secure platform with a powerful motor that raises and lowers individuals seated in wheelchairs. Lifeway Mobility sells vertical lifts that move between floors and incline lifts that span existing staircases. Indoor and outdoor models are available.

  • Bruno wheelchair lifts are made in the U.S. and are known for quality and customization.
  • Savaria outdoor models feature rust-resistant aluminum components that perform well in all climates.

Both manufacturers produce commercial and residential models. Lifeway offers rentals and may have used wheelchair lifts for sale at some locations. However, it did not offer vehicle lifts at the time we published this review. Get a free wheelchair lift quote today.

Wheelchair Ramps

Wheelchair ramps are used for entering homes and businesses safely and securely. Lifeway Mobility installs ramps that are properly designed for the slope and length.

  • Aluminum modular ramps are a more permanent solution for entering your home while you’re seated in a wheelchair.
  • Portable ramps come with or without handrails. Folding ramps are lightweight. Some models are ideal for use with vehicles or raised landings.
  • Threshold ramps are made of rubber or aluminum and allow for navigating safely over uneven surfaces. Use these ramps over small steps and doorway thresholds up to six inches high.

Lifeway Mobility offers ramp rentals at some locations.

Elevators and Dumbwaiters

A home elevator may seem extravagant. However, the cost is typically much less than selling your home and moving to another house or a senior living facility. Many home elevator models are attractive and fit in with the home décor.

  • Savaria home elevators feature gearless traction technology for quiet rides with 360-degree views.
  • Wessex designs space-saving residential elevators for two-story homes. These elevators can be installed just about anywhere for a fraction of the cost of a traditional home elevator.

Lifeway Mobility offers dumbwaiters for moving groceries, laundry, household supplies, and more between floors. Models are available from Waupaca and Staying Home, with a low-cost dumbwaiter from Harmar. Weight capacity ranges from 100 to 250 pounds, with options like shelves, lighting, and hoistway doors. Get a free home elevator quote today.

Currently, Lifeway Mobility can install residential elevators in the following locations only:

  • Colorado
  • Connecticut
  • Chicagoland
  • Minnesota
  • Cleveland, Ohio
  • Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
  • Rhode Island
  • Wisconsin (southeast and western)

Lifeway Mobility Walk-In Tubs

Slipping and falling on hard bathroom surfaces is a significant cause of injury or death for seniors. Walk-in tubs remove this hazard with easy entry and exit, nonslip surfaces, and safe seating. Lifeway Mobility does not name its providers but sells a variety of walk-in tub models.

The company offers side-entry tubs with inward- and outward-swinging doors. It also offers bariatric tubs with an extra-wide seat. All models include a shower wand and whirlpool spa, and each has several hydrotherapy options.

Refer to our walk-in tub cost information to see how features and the installation process affect pricing.

Walk-In and Roll-In Showers

Roll-in or walk-in showers are curbless and level with the floor, making it easier to enter and exit. Eliminating the step into the shower removes the trip hazard or provides wheelchair accessibility.

Lifeway Mobility does not mention any specific accessibility shower manufacturers on the website, but it offers over 400 custom configurations. The company can design and install a barrier-free shower that works for your health requirements, available space, and bathroom décor.

Lifeway Mobility also offers three modular barrier-free showers that can be installed faster than custom designs. Each features high-quality products made in the U.S., and financing is available for any package.

  1. Need It Now! is Lifeway’s no-frills yet attractive and functional shower solution. Features include a durable white gel coat finish, a telescoping shower wand, a water dam, a wall-mounted shower chair, and grab bars.
  2. Need It Now! with color options includes everything in the first configuration, plus a removable threshold. The color choices are white, off-white, bone, almond, biscuit, and ice gray. It’s ready to ship in two to three weeks.
  3. Designer Series is a spa-like walk-in or roll-in shower. Choose from 60 inches by 30 inches or 60 inches by 32 inches. Features are the same as the second package but with a molten stone color upgrade. The Designer Series also upgrades the wall-mounted chair to teak with matching bars and has tile recess options.

Transfer and Safety Aids

Lifeway Mobility consultants know that the wrong type of transfer aid can impair muscle and joint performance. From grab bars and bedrails to lift systems, sales reps only recommend solutions to help maintain your strength and physical functioning. There’s less strain on caregivers at the same time.

  • Grab bars and safety poles are ideal for safely moving around the bathroom.
  • Handrails provide stability in hallways, entryways, and living spaces.
  • Tub and shower transfer systems provide a safe, comfortable, non-slip environment without bathroom renovations. These portable systems can be taken with you when you travel or move to another home.
  • Bed assist rails help you get in and maneuver in your bed. Rails are installed in minutes.
  • Free-standing lift systems are lightweight and easily assembled in minutes by one person. These systems are cost-effective whether used permanently or temporarily. Lifeway Mobility features products from Savaria, Molift, and free-standing lifts that hold up to 600 pounds.
  • Fixed lift systems are stationary ceiling-mounted lifts with a permanent rail system. They use minimal floor space and allow for low and very high lifting. A fixed mobility lift has a weight capacity of up to 1,000 pounds.

From start to finish was very easy. Came to home, took measurements of area then discussed options. Needed old Stairlift removed as well. Gave me an estimate, not pushy at all, sent a few emails. When I decided called them up and set up for installation. Came to the house, removed old Stairlift & put new one in. Done within 2-3 hours. Cleaned up after himself. Very pleasant, explained maintenance, had a test run without any problems.

I felt very badly for the installer, he was working with an unfamiliar product and had to make a lot of phone calls for clarification and instructions. He was a very nice guy and did finally get things going but I think the company should have partnered him with an installer experienced with that product for his first install.

This company is definitely topnotch. Called and got service within a couple days. There was a hiccup. They came and serviced lift and then the batteries went out after the fact. I was EXTREMELY stressed because it wouldn’t go up or down and I am unable to do stairs at all. So I had to cancel my Dr appointment. I called and spoke with Kylie. She not only had a couple techs out but also sent the business owner out. What an AMAZING and compassion team of folks.

They sold me a stairlift that needs a battery change every 2 years and I have to pay for service every year. The salesman never told me this. I found out after reading the manual. When I called the local dealer they said it could be as much as $500 a year. I don’t have that. I paid them over $4000 for the stairlift and it doesn’t always work. Very disappointed.

Maria W.

Lifeway Mobility
We appreciate you taking the time to share feedback. The usage of the stair lift determines how long the battery lasts. It can be longer than 2 years. We're sorry that you're disappointed and you felt like that should have been explained during the consultation. While it's not something that's always specified, we're more than happy to share that information when it's a question that is asked. It's not $500/year. We only charge for service when needed and after the labor warranty has expired. Please contact us directly with any additional questions or concerns. We're more than happy to help.

We had a great experience with Lifeway Mobility (Troy, Gary, and James **). Troy worked closely with us in the initial stages of a bathroom remodel and garage stairs replacement/rebuild. James started the project on a Monday, and he was very communicative with us, and provided us with a lot of suggestions/options, and listened closely to my Mother's needs. He was very helpful, and ensured that everything was cleaned up and there was access to the bathroom each evening. Our remodel took about a week, and the process was painless for us, and we have a great looking and very functional bathroom at the end of it. My mother loves it and it has made her life much easier. Would highly recommend!

I WAS LIMITED ON MY TIME TO CHANGE FROM DUAL CHAIRLIFTS TO ONE WITH A 180 degree turn. I waited 3 days before anyone contacted me. All in all, I had 30 days to make a decision. Then they wanted to set up an appointment. The quote came in at $17000 and was told the 180 degree turn is a custom feature. I didn't have the time to wait for the new lift. Besides, the price was steep, as I had paid $6000 for 2- 9 step runs with 2 chairs. I didn't have enough time or money to place an order. I would not recommend this company if you have anything custom requiring more than 30 days to install.

We appreciate you taking the time to share feedback on your experience with our local team. While we understand your frustration, curved stair lifts are custom-made products that require several weeks to be built. The customization of the rail is also what makes them more expensive than straight rail stairlifts, which can be easily adapted to fit any straight staircase. The wait may not be ideal in some situations, but it is often the best option for many and a much less expensive alternative than moving into senior living facility. Please don't hesitate to contact our local team directly with any additional questions or concerns - 847.215.9490. Thank You.

Shadoe, the technician, listened attentively while I told him about the louder clicking noises the lift had been making recently. He inspected and lubricated the gear rail and demonstrated how it could be done while sitting in the chair and slowly riding up, also noting that cleaning the copper rail regularly with Pledge can cause it to build up after a number of months. The use of a green scrubber will clean that off, but once every 12-15 months is sufficient. He answered all my questions!
