About Safe Step Walk-In Tubs

Safe Step is the premier walk-in bathtub and shower provider in the United States. What we like about Safe Step is how they include bathroom modifications, plumbing, and electrical work and installation in the cost of their walk-in tub quotes.

Safe Step Walk-In Tubs come equipped with standard features that other companies consider optional upgrades, such as cleaning systems and therapeutic devices. We’ve rated Safe Step the “Great for Arthritis and Joint Pain” winner in our walk-in tub buyers’ guide because Safe Step has the Arthritis Foundation’s Ease of Use certification.

Plus, every Safe Step tub is customized to meet the size and design needed for the project, ensuring an accessible bathing experience. The company’s tubs are manufactured in the United States, come with a lifetime warranty, and, according to company representatives, are the no. 1 choice by sales volume for the product category.

After purchasing a Safe Step tub, the company will arrange for delivery, installation, and hauling away your old tub or shower. You don’t need to hire additional plumbers or electricians to complete the project. However, upfront fees may be required to start construction.

Pros

  • Most full-service installations and removals take less than one day
  • More features than other tubs
  • Shower hybrid option
  • Financing and discounts available

Cons

  • May charge an upfront deposit
  • Only 10 possible hydro jets

Safe Step Walk-In Tub Features

While the size and shape of Safe Step walk-in tubs often vary, many have the same standard features.

The models have several key safety and comfort features to minimize risk during bathing for anyone with mobility issues. Users get into the tub using a side door, shut the sealed door, then fill their bath without worrying about falls, slips, or trips. The heated seat keeps users warm while they wait for the tub to fill.

Because Safe Step can customize its product to fit customers’ needs, homeowners rarely need to change the size or layout of their bathroom. Therapeutic devices are standard on all tubs, including the Dual Hydrotherapy Massage System and Chromotherapy System.

These benefits and safety features are the reason why people buy Safe Step walk-in tubs:

Safe Step Walk-in Tub Costs and Pricing

Safe Step walk-in tubs are an investment in the comfort and safety of the homeowner. The company was reluctant to share prices with us because, like any construction project, product and installation costs will vary depending on the size and scope of the project. However, we were told that Safe Step models start at $10,000 for the walk-in tub, including shipping and installation.

The company avoids quoting general prices since nearly every project is unique. To help make the cost more manageable, the company offers a financing plan with approved credit. Before choosing a payment plan, check interest charges and compare them with other credit-based options.

Safe Step offers a “Helping Hands Rebate” of up to $1,500 to help offset the lack of Medicare coverage and discounts for military veterans.

You can get a free quote by completing a form on the Safe Step website. For guidance on what to look for in the price of a walk-in tub, visit our walk-in tub guide.

Safe Step Warranty

Safe Step covers its products with a lifetime warranty on parts and labor for the original purchaser as long as a company representative installed the product. This warranty covers the tub (including manufacturing defects), door seal, faucets, water pumps, heaters, and blowers.

Specific exclusions may apply, and coverage may not pay for all service or labor costs for every repair. There is a two-year warranty on caulking.

Safe Step Customer Service

Safe Step provides customer service via phone or chat on its website 24 hours a day. For those interested in buying a tub, a salesperson will return your call within an hour or two, or you can schedule a time to see one of the many showrooms in the U.S. We recommend visiting one of these showrooms so you can test the functionality of the walk-in tub before purchasing.

Those who have already purchased a tub have access to the customer service line from the moment they pay their initial deposit. This same phone number will connect them to a representative for any ongoing troubleshooting or warranty claims that may come up.

Safe Step Walk-in Tub Reviews & Complaints

Customers report being pleased with the responsiveness of the service team in resolving issues with leaks or answering questions that arise over time. Buyers describe Safe Step walk-in tubs as a luxury in-home bathing experience without sacrificing safety. The perks of owning a bathtub come up frequently from customers with mobility issues, with some reporting a significant relief of pain symptoms from conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis.

The Better Business Bureau (BBB) rates this company with an A+, its highest rating. Safe Step has earned this mark by responding to customer questions and complaints quickly. Many of the reviews left by customers are specific to the experience they received at a particular Safe Step dealer and may not accurately reflect the service at another location or the brand as a whole.

The most common complaint received by customers is that the tubs and showers can leak soon after installation. It’s not uncommon for a newly installed walk-in tub to need adjusting after some use. Almost all verified Safe Step reviews mention promptness and professionalism in getting installers and service providers back to the home to make these adjustments under the original lifetime warranty.

Some complaints were related to unclear pricing guidelines. Some customers felt pressured to buy when a representative visited their home to measure the bathroom for an appropriate fitting. Some said that figuring out the total cost of various models and options was confusing.

However, most verified reviewers who mention price seem satisfied with their overall purchase and refer to the higher-end tubs as a worthwhile investment for their health and peace of mind. Customers compared the step-in tubs to having a private hot tub in their bathroom.

Finally, a few reviewers warn that these walk-in tubs can use more water than a standard bathtub and often require an upgrade in the hot water system to accommodate the volume.

We liked Safe Step. The installers did a good job. They were in and out, cleaned up after themselves, and followed my wishes. My wife gets in the shower and loves it.

I got a couple little things that we noticed after the fact that could have been a little better. The wall-mounted sprayers and foot spray and the rain deal has a dent at the top left corner there, which faces out into the bathroom.

We didn't notice it at the time they put the shower in because it looked darn good when they put it in here. Then we got alternative mounts, the little shelves in here with a bamboo base. Bright pictures really look good in it that we like.

The one thing I don't like which scares me just a little bit, and I understand why it's there is the handle on the back wall grab bar that you mount the hand spray in. There's no way to turn that thing that if you were to slip, it's not going to tear the heck out of your back. That's the one big downside to the whole shower.

The sales representative at Safe Step was great. I had made arrangements to have a meeting with the Safe Step people and also Kohler. The Safe Step people got back to me quicker. Also, I liked what they said. So, I went with Safe Step.

The installers were wonderful. They had it done in five hours or so. They cleaned up after themselves. As far as the tub, I like the jets that hit all parts of my body and help me to feel better.

The one thing that I disliked the most, in the beginning, was the length it takes to fill the tub up. It takes about 15 or 20 minutes but then I have learned how to cope with that since I've had the tub, and it didn't bother me as much.

I love the tub. It's made a difference, and I can tell in the difference in my skin. It is soft and it's really good. It was a lot of money, but it was worth it. I can get in and out of it really quickly. It does the job and lets me in and out safely, too. They put an extra bar on the wall, and it really helps too.

The Safe Step rep was nice. He has a lot of information for me. He explained a lot, and I questioned him and he gave me answers.

When the installer walked in here, he kept saying, "You can't peek." If he invited me in and showed me different things, it would have been much better. As it was, I needed to call him back because he didn't turn the water on.

I don't know why he didn't bother to make sure that the water was turned on when he left. I had to wait 48 hours before I could use the shower. It was a Saturday night and I was going to take a shower and there was no water.

Overall, they needed to explain to me the different things. I use the product pretty well because everything worked, but the thing that holds the showerhead when it's on the wall keeps falling down. I am short, and I cannot reach up there to get the showerhead down.

The installer also did not put the thing on the wall that would hold a soap and shampoo. He put it too high. I called him and told him that it was too high. He said, "Well, I can't do that because there are holes in there." I thought, "Well, buddy, you can bring another one out and put it lower."

I love my new walk-in tub from Safe Step. I have a nerve problem in my legs and my spine and I need that water vibration. We used to have a hot tub where I live, but they don't have it anymore. They're not gonna replace it. So, getting the Safe Step is my answer to that. It is so much better.

The sales rep that I worked with was very nice. The installers did fine. The only thing I've got a problem with that I was gonna call about is the foot jets. The left one works fine. The right one does not.

I told them that when they came back to correct the problem, and they told me I should do this and do that. I've done all the things they said, but I still have no jet on my right foot. I really need those badly. I'll tell others that they should get Safe Step. They'll love it.

The young man who installed both of our showers worked like a Trojan. He's skilled and he did a magnificent job. Safe Step did have some strange delays. It did not hurt that much, but I did have other people I had to be concerned about.

As far as the product, my adage is the fewer whistles and bells and the more simple, the better. Mine is the simplest and it's easier. Chad has the more deluxe and it's not as easy. If I had to do it over again, I would not go to the deluxe, I would give him the same thing as I have.

However, I suppose if you're looking at it as a pure investment and selling a place down the line, it will give it a better value.

Safe Step's price was a little bit of a sticker shock. I didn't know it was gonna be that much but it is worth it.

The installers did what they were supposed to do. They demonstrated to me what I needed to know. They demonstrated how to take and do things. I didn't know that I had to have specific things to do on the cleaning list, but it's been pretty good.

I'm having a problem with the thing opening and making noise when it opens and closes the drain but other than that, I'm very satisfied. The tub has done a really good job at helping me. I just make sure I use those microbubbles like I'm supposed to.

Safe Step is great. I love the Safe Step tub. It's wonderful. I liked Safe Step's lifetime warranty. Their sales representative was beyond wonderful. The tub saved me from hurting myself because I have really bad knees.

I've had several surgeries on my knees. I just was going to fall in my other tub if I didn't get it replaced. So, I did. It's hard to get in and out when you can't pull your knees up.

The installation was also wonderful. The guys were great. They got done in less time than I expected. They gave me a heads-up call to let me know when they were on the way because I have two dogs that I had to contain.

The tub was a lot of money, but it will last me the rest of my life. It upped the value of my home. I would highly recommend it.

The Safe Step sales representative explained everything step by step so I understood what he was talking about.

Also, I didn't have any problem with what the installers did. It just took them maybe eight hours. It's just two people. I was satisfied with their work. We filled it up and they walked me through everything.

I had done quite a bit of research for about six months off and on trying to figure out what I really wanted to do. I had consultations and I had narrowed it down to a couple, and Safe Step was one of them.

After I met with my consultant, Eric, he said all the right things and it was very low pressure. Everything he said made sense to me. So, I got the tub.

The installers came from San Antonio, which was over 100 miles from where we live. We live on a ranch in the middle of nowhere. They got here right at the beginning of the timeframe that I had been told they would be here, and they did the installation in one day. Evidently, it went very well.

The only problem that we had was we had a big window right over the tub that I did not want to lose because I enjoy sitting there and looking out the window. It had a custom blind on it, which I had raised all the way so it would be out of the way. Somehow, that blind got damaged.

They pulled the cord out, which I did not realize. I saw the cord on top of the transom of the window. I thought they just didn't know how to get it back up there straight. It wasn't until the next day that I realized that the shade was broken.

I contacted Safe Step immediately and they took care of it immediately. I got a bid from the company that I had gotten it from. They immediately saw that I was compensated. Everything is working well and I love it.

The tub is very high tech, and there's an app that goes with it. You can do a lot of things with the app. There's also a remote that goes with it. It takes it about 10 minutes to fill and about three minutes to drain. It has air jets.

It also has a micro where it's infusing oxygen into the water. It's wonderful because it takes care of anything on your skin. I've been using that, and I don't even need to use soap because I'll be cleaner than I usually am.

My bathroom had a tub and a shower, and it's really nice except I was always afraid of falling out of that tub. I figured I'd call Safe Step because I did the research and they have the best product and the best warranty.

They came out mainly to let me know how hard it would be to put a sit-down tub in my bath, which is a small bath. They also told me how much it would be to put one in my wife's bath.

I thought it'd be a lot more money because she has a triangular-shaped Jacuzzi tub in there, where the drain is out this way. It turned out it'd be cheaper to put one in there than the one where mine was. We just had a bathtub to pull out.

Talking to the guy, I said, "I don't really want a sit-down tub. I want a walk-in shower." He said, "We can do that, too." It was $14,000 to put the walk-in shower in my bathroom. I said, "Okay. Just do it." They did.

The guy came in and did a demo of the old bathtub, which was a lot of work because he had to take all the old tiles down. They were really nice. It wasn't cheap. He took all that out, cut the bathtub up in three pieces, took it out, and put the new shower in nine hours. So, I was really happy and I'm really happy with the shower. I use it twice a day.

Safe Step was really good. They did what they said they were gonna do. Also, I paid what they said they were gonna charge me. There were no estimates. They do firm bids. I like the shower. It's big.

The Safe Step representative was very informative and answered all our questions. If we needed anything, he gave us his personal cell phone number to contact him. He was wonderful.

When the installer got here, we discussed where we were gonna position the tub and how it was gonna work. He said that it might take two days, which it did. He said, "I hope we're on the same page." I said, "Yes, we are."

On the second day, I looked at the positioning that I talked about with the salesman and I didn't like it after it was already there. It wasn't totally installed, but he positioned it where we had talked about it. I didn't like it, so we moved it. I'm very pleased with the way it is.

He was an excellent installer, very pleasant to work with, and very informative. He showed me, both days, how to use it, what not to use and what to use. It was a very good experience.

I was questioning the length of the plug. I had a jet tub, so they didn't have to come in and do the electrical but the way that it was, the cord is only a foot and a half.

I understand they probably have an electrician come in most of the time, but they need to compensate for other people who have a jet tub like I do, instead of moving the plug or having to run wires everywhere to be able to have a longer cord. They removed the electrical box and just positioned it on the other side of the board, and it was fixed.

As far as the tub's features, they're very good. I like them. I've seen a little bit of a difference in helping the pain. What I really like is I had a jet tub, and it was like trying to crawl in and out of a regular bathtub. So, this is very nice because it's just a little step up in getting in.

I would like them to have a little bit more room in it as far as getting in and having to sit down. I'm a small person but if you had a lot bigger person trying to get in and out, it may be a lot more difficult for them.

I had to wait so long before my Safe Step shower was installed. I thought they had forgotten about me. It was a year ago in May that I purchased it and made my down payment but they just got it done a couple of months ago.

We were looking for stuff to put into our bathroom and we looked at Safe Step. It was the one that my husband and I both liked. When we first started working with them and the gentleman came out and talked to us, we didn't qualify for them to help us with getting the loan.

They'd already given us all the information. We own our home. So, we've been talking about doing a refinance at the time the rates were down. We went through the VA, and that's how we got the money. So, then we recontacted the Safe Step guy. He came out here, and they redid everything.

I enjoy using our tub. My husband uses it and he uses the shower too. I like to just get in there with the jets.

The sales representative from Safe Step did a very good job. He was very informative. My only complaint is that I had an issue with it, and I wasn't able to use it for a while, and the service was very slow.

They didn't get back to me as promised when I called the service department to tell them the door handle wouldn't work and then the water was leaking from under the bottom.

They said that it would be from five to seven days before they will get back to me to even schedule an appointment to come and fix it. The five to seven days turned out to be more than two weeks. So, I was very unhappy about that.

I would've been okay with that if they had called me back and given me information instead of me keeping calling them. I'm satisfied with the service other than that, and they were here a couple of days ago. I like the different things that my tub can do. I'm really satisfied with the tub.

We had a tub installed in our rental house across the street, but we went with American Standard. After that one got installed, we decided we didn't much care for the company. So, we got in touch with Safe Step and we have been very satisfied with the tub, the workmanship, and everybody that has anything to do with them.

The installation was amazing. The installers were probably here for six hours. The one across the street is not as big as the one we had put in from Safe Step. It took them two days. The Safe Step guys tore everything out, cleaned all their mess up and they were really neat. They were polite as they could be. They were in and out in no time.

I don't use the tub as much as my husband does. I go for the shower, but about once a week, I use the Miracle Bubbles in it and those things are amazing.

My 92-year-old mother lives with us and it has really benefited her because she has bone-on-bone in her knees. Before we got this tub, she was bathing in the bathtub once a week. Now, she's in there every night taking a bath. She doesn't have any trouble with that at all. She uses the jets for her knees and she loves those.

My husband was having trouble getting in and out of the regular bathtub. So, it makes it a lot easier for him also and he loves the seat. He'll sit on the seat and take a shower.

Safe Step was the only one I could get anybody to work with. Their customer service people were very nice and professional.

The installers did the install in a day's time. It was very good service. They did a professional job. They cleaned up. I just don't like the shower curtain. It stands up too high in the shower. It's hard to keep the water from going outside the shower. Other than that, I love it. It's easy to get in and out of.

Safe Step was great. I like that their products were manufactured locally. The installation of my tub was fine. Their pipes from the tub to the in-house water pipes ended up with a leak and they had to come back and redo that, and the only trouble we had was when we first called to say it was leaking, they wanted to know nothing about it. It had to be our problem.

It took my husband probably six calls and threatening before finally someone called back and said, "Oh, okay, no, we'll send someone out." Their connection on the water pipe wasn't properly connected and that was where the leak was.

The main guy that handles all the installations sent the guys back again finally, but it was two days of stress because we thought they were not going to fix it, but they did. Overall, Safe Step talks a good game but didn't really follow up.

Safe Step came in here and they did not stop until they had the tub installed. They explained how to use it. Overall, it was the nicest experience I've had with anybody that has come down here to do anything.

In some places, you would call and they would say, "Leave a message. We'll get back to you," and you would never hear anything from them.

Safe Step answered their phone right away and the salesman that came out and talked to us before we bought the tub acted like he knew a lot about what he was selling and he was very friendly and wasn't really pushy.

We really like the tub and it's a relief for me because my dad's 90 and you have to worry a lot about people falling when you get that age. It's easy for him to get in and out of and he really likes that.

The only thing is, when you get to be that age, you get a little confused about what knob to turn where. If I could make one comment on anything, it would be they should be labeled.

My Safe Step walk-in tub is working. It's not gonna cure anything, but it makes it easier to put up with my problem. I like the shower package, too. That was good. Everything went smoothly from the salesman arriving to them winding up. They were good.

I'm kinda surprised that the installers can do it all in a day. They rescheduled the time. That was at the end of one month. They called two weeks early and said they could come on and do it, and I told them to do it.

The lady that called forgot to call the electrician though. So, they came and got everything they could get done. Then the electrician came the next day. I live in an older house, and it took him a while to get the line run, but he did an excellent job.

The installers came back and finished up in about an hour and a half. So, it worked out all right, and I got it two weeks earlier than I thought I would.

I had called Safe Step and Jill came out here. She was very good. Right away, I felt like we were friends. My house was a wreck and she was very non-judgmental. She's a very sharp girl and she probably makes quite a bit of money, and that's good because she could really work those figures.

The consultation was fine. It's just I'm not really technical and there are a lot of things to figure out. When I get in there, I think about people that are older than me and I'm like, "I don't know how they would figure this out" because the way you turn some of the things on is very strange.

Then, it's a little bit hard for me to get in the door. I know there are people bigger than me. I can't just stand up. I have to sit down and work my legs around it.

Plus, the really bad thing is that they elevated it and they didn't tell me until they were already finished and leaving and they said, "Here's this paper you need to sign for where we elevated it." One of my main problems is stairs. I just can't step up a foot high step and that's how they made it.

When I step in there, I have a hard time. I really have to hold on. When I step out, it's a pretty tall step and I didn't expect that at all. In the paper, they show that woman walking out and it's about three inches tall. Mine is a foot tall and that's a little tall for me. I'm only gonna get older and weaker. So, I hope I can keep using it.

The two installers were here all day and they were very nice. They had to take a couple of doors off and I had some of those pocket things hanging on the backs of the doors and they took those down and they never complained. They were very professional. I really liked them.

I didn't have much cash and I try to give installers a little bit of a tip and all I had was a $20 bill. I knew that the one that did most of the work didn't like that. I said, "I'm sorry, this is all the cash I have. This will buy you all breakfast tomorrow."

They had to use a sledgehammer. I had a thing hanging on the wall that lights up. It's electrical and it had paraffin in it. When I went in there after they left, I saw that the paraffin had splashed all over the wall and the sink and they didn't mention that to me. I didn't notice it until after they were gone.

I do not expect them to clean it up, but they could have said, "We're sorry. This spilled all over here. We hit it with a sledgehammer."

Then, they took down a shower rod and they messed up the wallboard there and they just left it. I'm gonna have to put something over that. They should have told me that, too.

Other than those, they did a beautiful job and I'm enjoying the tub. I'm getting more used to it. I'm just worried that I spent so much money. They came down some, but that kind of bothers me when I look at it and there are a few things I'm not happy with about it.

Safe Step sent me a letter and said, "If you're happy, let us know. If you have any questions or complaints, call this number." I called that number and left them a message several times and they would not call me back.

Safe Step offered more for the price. They had a very nice sales rep. He was thorough. He told me a lot. He was easy to talk with.

The install went very smoothly. I had three gentlemen here, two of which were working on the tub and one was working on the electrical information stuff. They told me they'd have it done in one day, and I was amazed when they did. They were extremely organized.

My Safe Step walk-in tub is alright. I was just looking for more. Still, I'm better with it than stepping over the tub. I take the shower. Sometimes I do bathe in it, but I do more showering in it. It's easy for me to go and get in it than I was to step over my tub to take a shower or a bath.

Safe Step's sales rep was awesome. It's just the company needs to take more time in explaining. Then they need to come back and recheck and make sure that you understand, to tell you one time, put it in, and tell you one time, give you the information, and that's it.

They need to follow up to make sure because the first time I got in it, water started getting all over my back and hitting the ceiling. They need to spend more time teaching you how to use it.

The installers were fine but after they left, I noticed how they forced the product in there, and they broke some of my walls and my closet too. They know they did it. It was obvious. Even if it was forced for them to get it in the space I had when they were sealing it to the floor, they should've fixed where it cracked my concrete leading to the closet next to it.

As far as the tub, it gives me a sense of comfort. I'm more relaxed. When I'm doing the tub, I do my little stretches and exercise in it, and I relax in it. I really love it. I need to get my hot water heater turned up for getting a little more hot water in it, but right now, with everything going up so high, can't do too much.

I don't like the Safe Step tub. It's not what I thought it was gonna be. I thought it was really bigger than what it is. If I'd known, I wouldn't have put that much money into it. I wish that I could take it out somehow.

My wife bought this tub for herself in our upstairs bathroom in 2014 and enjoyed it for 2 years then died. I take a shower in our downstairs bathroom.

I went through the tub’s monthly cleaning cycle a few times, but after a few months, I only used the cleaning cycle after I used the tub-about 4 times a year-remember I take showers.

The faucet started dripping-no big deal. The stopper flipper handle at the top came apart. It’s held in place with something like hardened putty which broke apart. OK. I can live with that.

The push button switch that starts the air pump that blows bubbles around the bottom of the tub stopped working. OK - so I’ll call and see what can be done. My first call was great. She said I had the Lifetime warranty so someone would contact me.

The next call was very rude and she blamed me for not following the monthly cleaning cycle as the thing that caused my stopper flipper to break and the leaky faucet and the defective air pump switch.

I’m 71 and couldn’t understand this lady so I asked to speak to her boss and she put me on hold then hung up on me.

I called back the following day and the lady explained that in 2014 when I bought mine, they offered only a limited warranty and while all parts are under warranty, there is a $174.00 per hour labor charge for them to come fix my faucet, or the flipper or switch.

She said they changed to include labor and parts in 2017. A few years after I bought mine. I feel foolish that I believed the salesman who said my tub had a lifetime warranty for as long as I lived in this house. Maybe he knew of the change coming because he told me I didn’t need to worry about anything.

I feel it was deceptive practice. Has anyone else been tricked by this ploy? Anyone want to join me in a deceptive practices targeting us senior citizens class action lawsuit? Email me at **.

I love my Safe Step tub. The man who came out is a terrific salesman. He didn't pressure me. He just talked to me and explained everything. I told him, "I already had my mind made up, but you clinched it for me."

They had two guys come out for the installation, and they were nice, polite and quiet. I didn't hear any hollering or carrying on as you hear with the people that are working in your house. They didn't make any racket and they certainly didn't make any mess. They took everything out with them.

As far as the tub, I like that I can get in and not worry about falling. I can sit down on the seat and I'm covered up with the water just about to my neck because I'm short. I'm not afraid to get in there.

The sales rep from Safe Step was very nice and she told me everything that I needed to do and showed me pictures. The installers were very nice as well. They were quiet. They did very well.

I love the product. The cleanup is great. They told me to put in white vinegar once a month, and it's not hard to do.

My legs are healing. I was getting a lot of sores on my legs, but I sit in the tub and use the bubbles and it's making my legs better. I have better days because of it. I used to worry about hitting my legs and worrying about what happens if I accidentally cut my legs, but it's doing really well.

Safe Step came out to the house and told me that all of the product is made here in the USA. I liked the feature on the door that has the curve for the knee. Also, Safe Step had a couple of other features that other companies did not have.

The only thing is when they came out to deliver the tub, it was the smaller one and they asked me if I would prefer the larger one because I'm a little bit bigger. I said, "Well, sure, yeah."

I don't know why they didn't offer the larger one to start with because they had to take the tub back, and then three weeks later, they came and brought the other tub. I'm glad that they offered it when they came because it's a lot bigger.

I love my tub. I do wish that I could get in and not have to wait for it to fill up, but there's no way to do that. Other than that, it's like a little Jacuzzi. It's pretty big.

I was happy with what the lady from Safe Step who came out said. I was a little bit upset because they advertised that you get a free showerhead and all that, but I didn't get that. I also did have to add a new water heater. Other than those, the product helped me some. I like the warm water jets.

The reps from Safe Step came to our home and they were very present and outgoing. The installation was good. The only thing is they brought a smaller tub.

My husband's a big guy, but they went ahead and put the tub they brought because if I had waited, it would have been another week before they could have put the tub in and they had already started taking the bathroom apart before they asked us to look at the tub.

The installation took a day because I went ahead with the small tub. They should have brought the bigger tub because they knew my husband's size, but it's okay. We're living with it.

It would be nicer if Safe Step was a little bit cheaper, but the tub's quality is wonderful. I like that it has a shower to it too because you don't have to fill up and use gallons of water every time you take a bath. You can take a shower.

Also, you can sit in the seat and still take your shower, wash yourself up, and then just stand up and shower. My mom doesn't have to drag the shower chair down the hallway anymore because we got a small bathroom and we had to put it somewhere else and she would have to drag it down the hallway.

My mother and stepfather purchased your walk-in tub for $26,000.00, quite expensive I may say. The salesperson met with them face to face and only showed them a video.

There was apparently no way to physically try the product in person to see if it would work for their needs, but the salesperson told them it would physically work for their needs.

My stepfather has dementia and swollen legs and cannot bend very well at the age of 80 and my mom is an average sized woman of 5'4". Neither of them can "walk-in" to the tub and shut the door.

The product is nice and looks good and the gentleman who installed was quick but they cannot use it and they paid 26,000.00. I feel that the sales person took advantage of the elderly.

There really should be a physical try before you buy showroom where people can physically try the product just like a jacuzzi tub or hot tub sales floor has. The follow-up person asked if my mom enjoyed her tub, my mom said no and she hung up on her. I'm not impressed.

The installation of our Safe Step tub went great. The installer did a very good job. We love our tub except for two things. It's not long enough. So, we have to sit on the seat, but that's not their fault because we didn't have enough room for it.

Also, it doesn't fill up high enough for the hot water. I have to sit on the floor of it in order to get it up to my shoulders. The rest of it is fine. We enjoy it. It's very soothing to sit in it.

We are very pleased with our Safe Step tub. All the features are super great. I use the tub quite a bit, and it helps me out because I have fibromyalgia and issues with my knees.

It even has gotten my husband to utilize it also because he was always using a shower. Safe Step has been great for our family.

Safe Step's price was excellent. We reviewed another product but there weren't as many features as the Safe Step one had that we were looking for as far as the warm seating because I utilize that too.

I'm crazy about the different colors because that really kind of helps soothe the mind. I do use that quite a bit. I like having Bluetooth because I sit there for a long period of time. I do utilize all of the features that it has.

I've tried the exercises in the tub, and it does help with my knees and the stretching of my legs. So, I definitely would recommend it, too. I have a granddaughter that has come over. She's into sports and she loves it because it helps her with her stretching.

We also have a granddaughter who is pregnant and she uses it, too. She loves it. It kind of helps her out with her little aches. Any age group would benefit from it. It has given us everything.

My wife said she would like a walk-in. We got one from Safe Step. We were also thinking of the health possibilities that it would provide us because we're both in the 70 age bracket.

The installers did great as far as we were concerned. We had to make some modifications to what we originally had set up, but everything went fine while they were here. They took care of things in an expeditious manner. They were polite and helpful, answered our questions, and gave us a demonstration.

Whenever I tried to use the tub, I'd go, "Uh, I made a mistake." I go upstairs and shower in another bathroom since we've had it because it's too complicated for me.

The Safe Step sales rep was quite a nice guy. He seemed knowledgeable about what he was doing. He was very honest, too.

The installers were good. They told me they'd be done within the day, and they were done by about 2 o'clock in the afternoon. Everything was working well and they demonstrated it.

I like my walk-in tub and that it's made in the United States. It was a good value for the price. I liked the idea of being safe to get in and out of the bathtub because the one I had was very low and I was very afraid of it.

This also has a shower package with it. So if I don't want to get in the bathtub, I'll just take a shower. I've taken more showers with it than I had baths but when my legs feel like they need it, I'll sit down in the bathtub and I'll enjoy it that way. I don't ache as I did.

It isn't inexpensive, but I feel that anybody that has the means to be able to do it, as they get older, they better do it because it's a blessing in disguise.

I like all the bells and whistles of the Safe Step tub. It was a quick drain. It takes three minutes and it was empty. I like the heated seat and back that you could put on as the water is coming in.

It also has Bluetooth speakers. You can play your music. It also has a place for essential oils to be smelling. It has everything.

The installers were wonderful and there was no mess. It was really surprising because they told me it was going to take five to six weeks before they could come to just install it, and it took less than three weeks.

I used it like two times for two baths. I was in the tub and I had nice hot water, and all of a sudden, I couldn't control it anymore. The remote control and the other controls stopped.

I was very lucky because I have a caregiver that was here, and we had to call the 800 number for help because I couldn't stop it. I couldn't get out.

My hands are very weak, and I could not drain it. She finally told me to flip the fuse. So, that got the jets to stop. But then I still had to get the water to drain. I had to put my head down into the water to try to lift the drain, but I couldn't do it because the pressure was so high.

My caregiver went and got me a metal spoon so I could get that in there to finally get the drain up so it would drain.

Safe Step came seven business days later, and they examined it, and they never saw anything like that. Supposedly they have ordered a new control box and I'm still waiting for that.

I couldn't believe that when I called to complain about this, nobody reached out to me to be concerned that I was stuck in this bath. If nobody had been here, I don't know what would have happened.

I wish the management would get in there when something happens like that and get to the customer and say, "Oh, my gosh, we're sorry this happened."

Wife and I placed a order for a safe step walk-in tub and shower combination, we were told that there would not be any problem for it to be installed. On the day of install we were by the installer that the size of tub we ordered, would be too much demolition for the install.

The installer then personally told me that they had a smaller tub that would be much easier install, and that the sales person would be in contact with us to set up the new smaller tub purchase and install.

My wife shortly after received a call and was told that neither tub would fit and that the only choice he had was a walk-in shower. Not what we wanted!!!!

I called the company and was told that the “VP” of install said that it was impossible to install any tub with only seeing bad pictures and measurements due to lack of room to move the tub through the house. Even though the installer that was in the house guaranteed the it was possible to do the install with a smaller tub.

If people are not willing to do an install with the full permission of the homeowner to do whatever it takes to do the install. Then they deserve to lose the money they would have made for the tub and install. And deserve the bad write up for very pure customer service.

On the plus side we were told that we would get a refund, will wait and see if it happens. We will not recommend.

We like the product from Safe Step. My wife's 75 and I'm 74 and we both have arthritis, and it's easier to bathe and also, we like the pain relief. Taking a bath in that and using the "bubbleator", as I call it, eases the pain long enough for us to get around for the day.

I kind of enjoyed the salesman's pitch. He was a pro salesman. The installers were really good. They didn't make any mistakes that I can see, and the county came out and okayed it. So, it's all good to go.

It's just that we had to buy a new hot water heater because the one we have was too small. So, we had to go up from a 40-gallon to an 80-gallon.

The tub came to $18,000. We were lucky enough to be able to afford it, but a lot of people these days are in economic trouble. So, I'd be careful about getting into it unless I can afford the 18,000 or a monthly loan payoff of anywhere from 200 to 350 depending on who you go with and what the rate is.

Safe Step has been great. I would recommend it to a lot of people. We decided to go with it for water therapy, and it has been doing wonders for my legs. I've been having leg spasms for four years, and the first time I used the tub, I didn't have any spasms.

So, I'd come to get in it every evening, spend 20 minutes just up to my knees to work the bottom part of my legs, and it's been doing wonders.

We got the shower package, but the one installer forgot to bring the shower rod. The way it was installed was not the way the salesman thought it would be. The installer was gonna come back. He didn't. We texted him a couple of times, and we didn't hear back. That was the only thing.

I'm short enough that when I stand under the shower itself, it doesn't spray everywhere. So, I'm gonna take over and not hang a shower curtain. So, I didn't call. I thought I don't wanna cause problems for him because he was a very nice man.

Other than that, everything is working the way it should. The warranty was the biggest reason we went with Safe Step. We're very satisfied with it.

I had a very good experience on the whole with Safe Step as far as getting it installed and them explaining it. What I didn't have a good time with was the inspector that's supposed to come because there was a mix-up with the plumber. The inspector was supposed to come out.

Evidently, they claimed they didn't get the message, and we went a week with the tub just sitting there and couldn't do anything. I finally called the guy that came here and sold it to us and he got on it.

Other than that, my husband uses the tub. My stepson is here from Indiana and he did the shower today, and he loved it. He's got a smartphone so he was able to program music. We like it.
